Build Something Wild is my mantra, and it’s my invitation to you.
Build a business that’s true to your values. Build for the freedom to choose how you spend your time, who you work with, and what success looks like. Build something that gives you the capacity to do your best work and enjoy the life you’ve built.
Most of us inherit ideas about what success is supposed to look like.
We absorb those ideas from our employers, our peers and the entrepreneurs we admire. Working hard, growing our businesses, and earning more money are all worthwhile goals. But, it’s easy to lose sight of the bigger picture.
I spent sixteen years in the Salesforce consulting world. During the last handful of years running my solo consulting practice, I consistently earned a quarter of a million dollars/year while working part-time as the primary breadwinner for my family. My business was build entirely through referrals, and it gave me something I valued far more than the revenue itself. It gave me the freedom to spend afternoons with my son, take long hikes and bike rides on a random Tuesday, and build my days around what mattered most to me.
Over time, I realized I didn’t value the consulting business nearly as much as I valued the life it gave me.
That realization changed the way I thought about success. I stopped measuring my business by what it looked like from the outside and started paying much closer attention to the life it was helping me build.
That’s what I started Build Something Wild.
Today, I write, teach and coach entrepreneurs who are asking many of the same questions. They want a profitable business and they want the freedom to define success for themselves, build a business that’s alighned with their values, and create a life they genuinely enjoy living.
I’d love to help you build that version of your business.
