In my first job out of college I had a handful of direct reports. They were fresh out of college too. I had one year more of experience than they did [and it felt like a lot at the time 😂].

I struggled in one area. I couldn’t get them to turn in accurate monthly reports on time. Every month I ended up cleaning up their numbers myself, making sure the math added up before it went out the door.

I complained to my boss, an entrepreneur who’d hired a handful of kids to run around Guatemala supporting entrepreneurs. How he responded has stuck with me.
